The Simón Bolívar
Volunteer Program was founded in 2004 by the Simon
Bolivar Spanish School For more than ten years the school
has been helping students find volunteer work in Ecuador.
Due to the increasing interest over the years, in 2004 we
started the Simón Bolívar Volunteer Program
to individuals outside of the school.
The Foundation "Bolivar
Education" is a private, non-profit organization that is not associated with any political or religious activities and was created in January 2008 with the objective of channeling more efficiently our volunteers' work through several organizations.
We offer an endless number of volunteering opportunities in different fields.
By doing so, we create a bridge between our volunteers and the organizations; volunteers benefit from the experience acquired through the projects and the organizations benefit from the time, love, and energy volunteers offer for free.
In this way, volunteering becomes a wonderful experience for both parties.
It encourages cultural exchange and allows us to discover that regardless of race, ideology or nationality, our common traits as human beings are more than our differences.
Further more; volunteering is an experience capable of turning us into true citizens of the world.
Carbon Offset
We work closely with CanopyCo to carbon offset everything we do. Your entire experience
with us will be carbon neutral. CanopyCo is an Ecuadorian based organization managed by local and European
professionals dedicated to reforesting Ecuador’s native forests
for the benefit of the climate, the local community and, of
course, Ecuador’s phenomenal flora and fauna.
Along with CanopyCo,
we have carefully calculated all the emissions our Foundation and associated activities generates. Our entire operation has been included from the bus rides our staff take to work to the electricity used for the building lights. CanopyCo has worked out how many trees we need to plant to absorb the carbon dioxide emissions using UK and USA government standards. Rest assured that from the moment you arrive at the airport to the moment you leave, everything you do with us will leave a carbon footprint of ZERO.
